Mark is a Telly-award-winning documentary editor. Clients often commend him for his wizardry, and his talent to make a story his own.

Mark, originally from Germany, embarked on his career at a small post-production house in Hamburg, where he gained experience editing TV spots for Universal Music. Later, he transitioned into a staff editor position at a commercial production company in Berlin.

Motivated to craft more intricate and extended narratives, Mark relocated to New York in 2006 and shifted his focus from commercials to documentaries. Since then, Mark has edited, supervised and produced a diverse array of documentaries for Sundance, Netflix, ABC, VICE, A&E, and History.

Some of Mark's notable credits include Sundance’s first true crime series "It Couldn't Happen Here”, investigative documentary “The Last Defense” (produced by Viola Davis) and the travel series "What's Eating America" (with Andrew Zimmern).

Mark also often is part of the editorial team behind docudramas and hybrid documentaries such as “Roman Empire” for Netflix or “America’s War on Drugs” for the History channel.

As a story-driven editor, Mark focuses on visual storytelling and character development, and with a background in short-form, he seizes every second in long-form as an opportunity to propel the narrative forward.

Beyond the editing room, Mark can be found cycling around town or exploring YouTube to master the ins and outs of maintaining an old coop apartment on the Upper East Side, where he resides with his wife and son.
